My Father kept a garden, a garden of the heart.
He planted all the good things there, that gave my life it’s start.
He turned me into sunshine and encouraged me to dream.
Fostering and nurturing the seeds of self esteem.
And when the winds and rain came, he protected me enough,
But not too much because he knew, I’d need to stand up strong and tough.
His constant good example always taught me right from wrong.
Markers for my pathway, that will last a lifetime long.
I am now my Fathers garden, I am his legacy.
And I hope today he feels the love reflected back from me.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
